It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because it seemed I lacked timing completely," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was out the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
